Church of Notre-Dame, French Heritage monument to Coursan

The single nave of four bays is covered by a false canopy of warheads and is lit by four roses. The narrower and lower, pentagonal apse is vaulted warheads. It is open by three large Windows. The two side Windows are two lobed lancets topped by three clovers and the central window consists of three lobed lancets and a tracery of clovers and quad. The apse is crowned by a parapet and is supported by buttresses with two saddle roofs. A massive Bell Tower on noticeably plan rises South of the apse. Two-storey twin bays are delimited with moulded bands. The ground floor of the tower is vaulted warheads chamfered. Key feuillagee is accompanied by a sculpted side head. A text of 1237 mentions the presence of fortifications in Coursan. The Church was incorporated into the system of fortification and was rebuilt around the middle of the 14th century. In 1869, coverage of the robust nave was demolished, the walls exhaussés and a warhead brick Vault was installed on it. The Windows of the choir were restored in 1874 and the vault of the choir was rebuilt and the new caps. In 1877, following the demolition of the southern wall, six side chapels and the South porch were built between the buttresses.
