Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Consolation, French Heritage monument to Thiezac
We find in the canton of Life, Notre-Dame de Consolation, above the borough of Thiezac, vault which has old frescos worthy of attention, and which formerly had a miraculous image of the Virgin.
According to the oral tradition, this vault would have been built at the 15th century following an appearance of the Virgin and with discovered of a statuette this site has. It was increased with the west and borer of a gate in 2nd half of the 17th century. Later, after the revolution (19 meadow year II is 1794), the vault which was then a place of pilgrimage is rebaptisee temple of the Reason of the Mountain.
It is on a shaded hillock of old limes and creusee of a cave known as '' of the Hermits '', the vault, of a very rustic aspect, dominates the village. The interior is announced by the forty-five tables or medallions frame the rinceaux one, foliages and heads of angels, painted on wood at the 17th century, which decorate all the vault. At the time of the pilgrimage, the miraculous statue is descended from the church.
