Castle of the Valade, French Heritage monument to Bourdeilles

Built in stone and coated limestone rubble, this castle has a square and a peak stage. A circular tower flanks the logis in the North-West and South-East
* inserting a spiral staircase, one of them would have a basis from the end of the 16th century. The logis is covered by a roof broken to hilltops

Located on a plateau overlooking the Valley of the Valade, the castle was a noble Lair at the end of the 15th century. The castle was expanded in 1760 and the domain was then 600 hectares. Valade, who was part of the parish of Lisle, was attached to the commune of Bourdeilles in the Revolution. It was at these events that the castle was sold by Henri-Antoine nice Valade to François-Germain Dufaure de Rochefort. An agricultural school was established between 1851-1884.
