Jewish cemetery, French Heritage monument to Grussenheim

The cemetery is currently enclosed by a concrete wall. A Jewish community existed Grussenheim since 1648, authorized by the Lord of Rathsamhausen of Ehenwihr. According historical work, the cemetery was created in 1810, previously the deceased were buried in the cemetery of Mackenheim. It was expanded in 1867, when the municipality sold a parcel, then one last time in 1896 by the purchase of a parcel. Between 1939 and 1945, the wall was destroyed by shells. The number of preserved funeral monuments is 320, they date from 1816 to the most ancient to the present day.
