Penitents Chapel, French Heritage monument to Eygliers
Located near the parish church, the chapel of the penitents is a building of rectangular plan, a nave covered a full-handlebar cradle, ended in an apse projecting hemicirculaire. The timbers fall on pilasters. The nave is illuminated in the East by two Windows. In the west wall, two Windows and a narrow door lintel is based on two bearings are sealed. The door of entry, South façade, is accessible by three marble steps of which the last one appears to be a stone in re-use (altar stone?). The lintel in pink marble is based on curved pads. It is surmounted by a tympanum hemicirculaire. A chamfered oculus is placed above the portal. Inside, Brown, red and black paint traces are visible in the lower parts of the walls. The chapel dated and not documented may date from the late 16th or early 17th century.
