Canal du Midi, French Heritage monument to Capestang

The Languedoc or channel of communication of the two seas canal completed under Louis XIV according to the plans of the engineer Pierre - Paul Riquet, communicated to Colbert in 1662. Work began in 1667 by the canal area between Toulouse and Naurouse. In 1672, the first part of the canal is completed. After some corrections, the canal is finally completed at the end of the year 1682.
