The church Jacques-the-Major Saint?

The vision first of this church gives the impression of a banal construction, but, by making the turn, one discovers a chorus ruins some (more exactly a beginning of unfinished construction) and a vault behind the bell-tower.

The Bernese abbot, in his study on the seigniory of Courcelles-the-King, teaches us that a church existed at the end of XIIeme century, dediee has Jacques-the-Major Saint, Sainte Anne and Holy Apolline.

This church was increased in 1406 per Blanchet of Bracque, lord of Courcelles. Its project of building of prestige, intends has to accomodate ceremonies for the court, was stopped because of its absence, Blanchet having been made prisoner with the battle of Azincourt (1415) the majority of the sources contribute has to say that it is its capture which has involves the end of work thus that we deal has an unfinished building site and not has a ruin).

The current monument was inaugurates by the archbishop of Direction in 1656.

The municipality made carry out a restoration of the church in 1994 and obtained its inscription with the additional inventory of the Historic buildings (Date of protection 1991/03/13, Date of payment 1993/09/14, to see structural information low)

It is thus about a church made up of a building begins fine XIIeme which failed well to disappear to leave place has an immense construction of XVeme century.

The abandonment of this imposing project has causes, seems T it an enlarging of the church while adding to him to XVIeme a side. The nave was taken again on this occasion.

It was remade in 1656 according to the Bernois abbot. It is covered with frescos dating from the XVIIeme century, representative Saint Hubert, Sainte Apolline, Sainte Genevieve, Saint Antoine, etc

She also has a furnace bridge baroque and stained glasses (date dubious)

She was the subject of a very beautiful restoration with the beginning of the year 2000.

The site of the general advice precise for the vault Saint Hubert that the murals dating from 17th await the art lovers religious to propose 105 m ? to them splendid frescos.

The general advice also specifies that the vault is opened with the public since 2006 and that part of this vault and frescos were the subject of a restoration in 2005. Surprised guaranteed by crossing the door:
