Ispagnac

Ispagnac, on Right Bank of the Tarn, in the North-West of Florac. Population 1,885 babitants. This very pleasant borough is built in a pretty small valley, on the edges of the Tarn. Some constructions, particular remarkable there are seen. If one were to add faith to the Universal Dictionary of France, there would exist, in the surroundings, rather rich siver-bearing black lead, since it would give 33 pounds of lead and 8 ounces of money per quintal of ore.

The road of Mende has Florac passes by Ispagnac, and crosses the calcareous and arid plate which separate the basin of the Tarn of that of the Batch; this flat door the name of Coasse de Sauveterre haunts; deprived of trees, resources and almost of topsoil it is frappee of a dreadful sterility which did not allow has any dwelling to be established there. One only finds, has a quarter of mile, on the left of the road, in a small depression, Fressinet, miserable hamlet or the relay of station is place.

The Causse of Sauveterre has a width of approximately 3 miles, and is high of 975 bills of quantities at least above the sea.

The cold, snow and the storms make sometimes from there the way perilous; in rigorous winters, travellers died there.
