Halles from Langogne

Place of passage between Vivarais and Velay-South of the France, Langogne comes out of its walls in the 18th century. In 1743, Dom Ambrose of Fleury, prior of the city constructed the Hall, with its fourteen pillars, one of the largest preserved in France. It is a place of exchange of cereal, farm products, leather, wool country, against chestnuts of the Cevennes, wines and oils of Provence, and other goods from the midi and the Mediterranean.

The Hall is composed of a horizontal terrace with nozzles overtaking the level differences. Six columns on each large side granite, Tuscan order supports a very nice frame. The cover is made of slate in the country (Ministry of culture).
