Domaine the Castle of Bourgon, French Heritage monument to Montourtier

Castle rebuilt in the 15th century. Common from the end of the 18th century. The gardens occupy the same plots as in the 16th and 17th centuries. Interior of the dining room and the lounge in the 18th century (between 1734 and 1761). The current decor of the dining room dates from the beginning of the 20th century, the fair has kept its scenery of the surroundings of 1830. The current bathroom (old painted cabinet) has a painted 17th century ceiling, as well as the room painted with ceiling is painted in trompe-l'oeil imitating the tapestry at the point of Hungary (1st quarter 17th century). These parts have retained their soil from the 17th century.

Description of this building by Château de Bourgon :

Le château de Bourgon est un monument historique classé mis en valeur dans un écrin de verdure.

Le nom de la forêt qui l'entoure apparaît en 989 dans le cartulaire de l'Abbaye d'evron. il est situé sur le tracé alllant de Jublains (cité romaine) à Rennes. Le château s'élève sur une base de granit  entourée de murets d'enceinte  Sa construction commence en 1218, le site est fortifié, on y accède par un pont monumental à 3 arches qui enjambe les douves reliées à 20ha d'étang et un pont levis. Deux tours jumelles encadraient ce porche, une seule subsiste.  La chapelle date de 1528, on peut y admirer tympan et remplage, crédance  sculptés, vitraux d'Auguste Alleaume. Le château Renaissance, date de la guerre de cent ans, les derniers agrandissements dont les communs datent du XVIIIème.

A l'interieur on peut voir, l'imposante cheminée de granit aux armes de la famille Montecler, des chambres peintes datant de 1580 et 1625 dont le célèbre cabinet bleu de la marquise de sablé qui faisait partie des "précieuses". Les archives y sont conservées.

Ce château est ouvert au public toute l'année.
