Church parish Notre-Dame-de-L'Assomption, French Heritage monument to Mont st martin

Church built in 1959 (when worn by the foundation stone and source dating) par l'entreprise Bertoldi of Longwy, on plans of the architects Zimmermann, Corre and Epron, Abbé Bernard being parish priest. Has replaced a chapel built in 1952 behind École Notre-Dame-de-L'Assomption, the Abbot Bettinelli being already parish priest, located in the new district of plateau created from 1936 with a garden and substantially increased in the aftermath of the war 1939-1945, due to the proximity of the huts of Mont-Saint-Martin and Longwy. The construction of the new church was co-funded by the parishioners, the Diocese of Nancy and the factory Lorraine Escaut, which provided a grant for the purchase of the land.
