Vaucouleurs

Vaucouleurs, small town of 2,600 inhabitants, is built in amphitheatre on a slope which dominates the Meuse and in one laughing landscape. Cotton fabrics there are manufactured. The name of Vaucouleurs points out that of Jeanne d' Arc, who presented herself to it to the lord de Baudricourt to achieve her mission By strangest contrast, it points out also that of famous Dubarry, born in this city.

Close to Vaucouleurs is Tuscy, which formerly had a royal castle, and which has today blast furnaces, foundries and engineering departments for buildings, monuments, railroads, etc
