Notable's house, French Heritage monument to Melrand

The structure of this House is the elongated plan classic. The ground floor was originally two rooms, bathroom/kitchen, access to the stairs through the room. It takes place in a turret, in off-work, covered with a conical roof. The ground floor will double, to the North, a rear storeroom-use body. The floor was composed of three rooms: two in the main body, one in the rear body. The addition of two main buildings on floor, East and North, came to enlarge the initial building. This large mansion-like House raises the question of the social position of its constructor. Indeed, no text does mention as a stately residence. It is a notable House located in the centre of the town, in the immediate vicinity of the Church. Probably built in the second half of the 16th century, it is extended to rubble, to the East, in the first half of the 17th century, thus creating a third room on the ground floor. Another extension is performed at the same time, this time to the North, in the continuation of the posterior body, forming thus a return bracket. The date of 1622 registered on the lintel of a window North of the House may match these extensions. In the 19th century, the west facade of the new building is fully assembled. Also, the original building underwent many changes in the 19th century and in the second half of the 20th century when his change of position in hotel-restaurant: bays of the South façade have been transformed, the internal structure also. The bulkhead between the two original parts of the ground floor has disappeared as well as the chimney on the pinion. Corridors and walls have holes in the floor to create new rooms.

Monument and history of the place
