Casa Del Marle, French Heritage monument to Pont sur sambre
The House is located on the main street through the village, down from street. Parcel is narrow and elongated, overlooking the Sambre at the back. The House is on two levels with roof, brick and stone (base) coated with a coating. The coverage is in two sections, covered with slate. The House has six bays with the interior layout of the parts. Upon entering the House, a corridor serves a right piece and two pieces in a row to the left. The room decorated by Félix Del Marle is the first room on the left. It is a room of 28 m², lit by two bays (renovated) overlooking the street. The geometric compositions of style neoplasticien cover the walls and ceiling. Originally, furniture (designed by Carpenter-cabinetmaker Camille de Silva), a carpet with geometric decoration, luminaires with geometric forms and iron doors complemented the decor. Parts of the first floor and the attic are under redevelopment. Dependencies (ancient stables, stables) and the brewery are also being renovated, but are not the subject of protection in respect of Historical Monuments. The House dates from the middle of the 19th century and became the House of a brewery built around 1888. The brewery malting Dean ceased operations around 1950. It is the birthplace of the painter Félix Del Marle (1889-1952), where he made a neo-plasticien decor to 1926 that it modifies to 1945. This decoration was rediscovered during construction of the House in cottage in March 2001. The Restorer Magdalena Varanguien De Villepin was in charge of the conservation-restoration campaign. She reached the walls and the ceiling and proceeded to a restoration of the paintings and woodwork. The listing of all Historic Monuments (Front Street and roof) was posted by C.R.P.S. on October 26, 2001. The order is being processed.
