Manoir de Courboyer, French Heritage monument to Noce
Courboyer, close to Wedding, is very-curious a small castle or rather a simple home or manor. The plan of this charming construction is a cross-section length flanks with the angles by four turrets in corbelling; in the middle of the two faces principal, two towers one round, the other octagonal one containing the staircase, make covered on the walls of the building. A small vault isolee in the style of the XV E century depended on the castle.

Soon the cars stop; a stony way leads us to the home converted into farm. But the majority of the excursionists take through fields for better admiring the whole of this beautiful dwelling of the XV E and XVI E centuries.
It was already visitee in detail by the Company at the time of its first excursion in 1900. We will thus not give of it the description which one will find with the Bulletin of the Company (Volumes IX, 1890,465 and XIX, 1900,341), in two extremely interesting articles due to the feather of the lord of the manor of Saint-Hilaire-of-Walnut trees, who is almost at his place.
Let us recall only that Courboyer belonged to the houses of Courboyer, of Plovers (XVI E century), of Fontenay (XVII E century), of Pillars (XVIII E century), of Barville, sieurs of Wedding (XVIII E century), of Mesenge, Romanet of Beaune (XIX E century). It is today the property of Mr. Guimond.
As much of the excursionists of today were not six years ago, one visits in detail the old manor besides preserves in good state.
The vault alone, which goes back to 1500, already quite sad at the time of our last visit, underwent new degradations. The cracks of the walls widened, the mullions of the windows miss partly. Inside, it is sadder still, paintings has fresco almost disappeared. A coarse floor has cut the vault has middle height; in top, hay; in bottom, animals.
Poor vault, can you have one day, like the old church of Saint-Hilaire, the chance to meet an intelligent friend who returns you has your primitive destination!
