Manoir Elizabelar, currently House, French Heritage monument to Iholdy

The noble House of rectangular plan is oriented Northwest-Southeast. Each corner has a watchtower which figuratively Cap represents a face. The building is flanked by Northwest rear elevation with a turret amount of bottom, off-work, of semicircular, with latrines on the first floor. The main body is topped by a hip roof, the watchtowers of conical flat tiled roofs, the turret of a lean-to. The Southeast earlier elevation is authorised. The door is ensigned by a broken triangular pediment. The frames are in the majority. Before restoration, the aircraft of the walls of the watchtowers was red flat bricks. The main door, to the Southeast, provides access to the ezkaratz where stairs turn frame returns, serving the square floor. The walls are timber and mud or stone fill. Each piece is or was equipped with a fireplace, including the kitchen in the Southwest, on the ground floor. The watchtowers are accessible from the top. The oldest mention of the noble House of Elizabelar dates back to 1397. On this date, Toan is Lord d ' Elicabellar'. The documents come from the Archives of Navarre, preserved in Pamplona. The foundation of the building dates at least to the 14th century. The noble House 'Eliçabelarrea' is quoted in 1515-1520 and 1536. The Lord of Elizabelar appears in the deeds of before 1670 among qualifying noble people. The four watchtowers on the angle each have a base appeared representing a face. The cap of the Western figure is characteristic of the 16th century. This device is previous to the restoration of 1680, date of the main gate to the Southeast. On this occasion, the openings are redone and not complete cross are pierced. Only a window to the North, prior to the restoration, is chamfered.
