Former convent of the grey nuns, French Heritage monument to Amiens

The former major Diocesan Seminary, very homogeneous monumental stone, was built between 1736 and 1741 (central body and wings on Court), 1758 (extension of the North Wing to the street), 1779 (extension of the South Wing to the street), 1827-1828 (extension of the wings on the garden by the departmental architect Cheussey). This architecture with an elegant sobriety is also decorated with carved Louis XVI décor concentrated at the level of the stem and beautiful 18th ironwork railings. The Chapel is equipped with a Neo-louis XVI decor created between 1877 and 1882. The buildings, which shelter Grand seminar between 1741 and 1906, are occupied by the army since 1909.
