Tower of Anglemein, French Heritage monument to Rambervillers
It is about the middle of XIIIe century that an enclosure is built around the town of Rambervillers, it will be augmentee in the south during XVe century. Entouree of pits in the beginning, those Ci will leave place has gardens in 1724. At the XVIIIe century, the doors of the city (seven) will be demolished. From this period there remains only five turns.
The tower of Anglemain (best the concervee of all) was transformed at the XVIIIe century by a reduction of its defense system and by the opening of a passage to rez of fits (see photo I.L.) more some windows (it is at that time that different the level from the tower are modify).

La Tour d'Anglemein est construite autour de 1255 sous l'impulsion de l'évêque de Metz Jacques de Lorraine afin de servir de guet , avec une cloche d'alarme et d'appui à la digue de régulation de l'eau dans le système de protection de la ville par fossés maintenant disparus.
