Castle Lobstein, French Heritage monument to Ville sur illon
House of Master built in 1904 for the brewer Jacques Lobstein, near his company, the Large Brewery and Vosgean Malt factory.
Considered for the purity as of its water, City-on-Illon beer produced since 1627.
In 1887, Jacques Lobstein, Alsatian brewer, came to install there an industrial brewery of Bavarian type which ceased its activity only in 1975. The latter got busy has to use modern technologies like electricity, the groups of cold thus marking the end of the era of the artisanal breweries.
It is dessinee by the Clasquin architect in an eclectic style of the end of the 19th century.
The interior decoration testifies to the influence of the Art nouveau:
- canopies of the workshops of the Master-glassmaker Charles Champigneulle
- decoration paints floral, sign of the painter G. Destiny.
